About Me

Captain Cheryl Pitzer has spent her career developing and teaching aviation training principles, Pilot Human Factors, and Crew Resource Management. Her dynamic aviation career began as a flight attendant for United Airlines before ultimately moving into the captain’s seat at FedEx.

She created “Eyes on Lives,” a multi-organizational Quality-Driven Management (QDM) program focusing on best-in-class animal movements from pick-up to final delivery. Her favorite passengers include whales, dolphins, horses, birds, and other zoo animals.

Not content with her achievements in the aviation industry, Captain Pitzer has also made a significant global impact as a volunteer pilot and instructor for Orbis International. She has completed over a dozen missions across the globe, piloting the “Flying Hospital” to remote areas where medical care is scarce. Her efforts have offered life-changing eye surgeries to local residents, a testament to her dedication and compassion.

Captain Pitzer is a sought-after speaker who shares best-in-industry animal movement and safety practices. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and studied Veterinary Technology at Purdue University.
